Running Bear Park

Erosion and Sedimentation Study

The Running Bear Park project included several analysis and design phases. The improvements included preliminary and final design of ponds and outlet structures, retaining walls, rough grading of recreational facilities, channel cutoff channel, and park entrance road. The improvements to the adjacent residential levee system included a gated discharge pipe, electrical improvements, and raising the levee elevations. The project involved permitting requirements for a 404 permit from the Corps of Engineers, Conditional Letter of Map Revision from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and a Corridor Development Certificate Permit. Permitting required the evaluation of wetland impacts and design of appropriate mitigation measures.
