JOHN MELTON, RPLS

John Melton With more than 41 years of experience in land surveying, John has worked on a staggering number of projects across North Texas. As the Survey Director, he supervises and in some cases, leads the crew to perform boundary, topographical, and as-built surveys; platting for residential and commercial properties; and construction staking.

Planning and executing survey operations are integral to a wide range of civil engineering projects and when performed with extreme care, give the design engineer or architect greater accuracy and definition. John’s approach has always been to work in partnership with engineers, architects, and other consultants to be fully informed and be able to deliver a high quality, detailed survey that will often provide some obscure aspect or detail that adds a greater level of description of the site. John has done work as a prime surveyor for many municipalities and counties in Texas, as well as other public and private organizations, and construction companies.

Although John manages and supervises survey crews and job scheduling, he considers professional training a key ingredient necessary to maintain and better his skills in management and surveying operations. This allows him to stay at the forefront of land surveying.

John is active in the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) and served two terms as Director of the Dallas Chapter.
