Julie Jones, P.E.  |  Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers

Julie is a senior civil engineer with experience in the design of large projects as the hydrology and hydraulics project engineer/manager. She has worked with various municipalities including Dallas, Garland, Southlake, McKinney, Plano, Richardson, Irving, Carrollton and Grand Prairie. These types of projects include roadway and guideway drainage, hydrology and hydraulics studies, and FEMA studies.
Julie is also engaged with our transportation team to support necessary drainage design elements. She is an essential member of all roadway project teams and is capable of leading the interface management requirements to assure our clients that new and upgraded facilities not only provide a transportation conveyance solution, but also storm runoff must be managed properly as an essential element of the final engineered solution
Julie performs technical reviews for two flood control districts (Dallas County Flood Control District #1 and Valwood Improvement Authority) as the District Engineer, completes designs for erosion control projects, 2-D hydrologic/hydraulic models, performs client coordination and project management services.
Some of Julie’s projects include Beck Branch Stream Stabilization Plan in Richardson, Collins Road Widening in Sunnyvale, DART Orange Line Expansion in Irving, DART Blue Line Expansion in Rowlett, Mills Creek / Peaks Branch / State Thomas Drainage Relief Tunnel in Dallas, Sloan Creek Erosion Control for NTTA, Shiloh Road Drainage in Garland, Streams 2C4, 2C5, and 2C6 Flood Reduction in Garland, and Town of Flower Mound Master Drainage Study.

Julie is an active member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Texas Floodplain Managers Association (TFMA), and Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA). She is Past-President of the Dallas Branch of ASCE, North Texas Professional Chapter of EWB-USA, and South Central Region of EWB-USA. Julie has designed projects around the USA, as well as in Guatemala and Bolivia. 
Julie resides in Dallas. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at her church, coaching cheerleading, and spending time with friends and family.
